Getting ready for your Bello session takes just a few minutes. Here's how to breeze through it.
You've been invited to a Bello session, and before you join the conversation, we want to make sure everything on your end is working perfectly. No surprises, no scrambling at the last minute. Just a quick setup so that when it's time to talk, you can focus on the conversation and nothing else.
Here's how to get from your invite to fully ready.
Step 1: Open Your Invite
It all starts with an email. You'll get an invitation that tells you when your session is happening, including the date, time, and your local time zone, so there's no guesswork.
Click the big Get started button to jump straight into setup.
Button not cooperating? No problem. Copy the link at the bottom of the email and paste it into any browser you like.
⭐ Tip: One quick heads-up from the email itself: you can't join from a phone. Grab a computer or tablet so everything runs smoothly.
Step 2: Welcome to the Tech Check
Once you click through, you'll land on the Tech Check. This is step one of three, and you can see your progress along the top the whole way: Tech Check, then Let's get to know you, then You're All Set.
The left side of the screen is your setup panel. The right side walks you through three quick checks. Let's take them one at a time.
Pick Your Devices First
Before any of the checks run, take a second to make sure Bello is using the right gear. On the left panel you'll see three dropdowns:
Camera: Choose which camera you want to use. Built-in, external, whatever you've got.
Microphone: Pick the mic you want to be heard through.
Speaker: Select where you want to hear everyone. Headphones, laptop speakers, your call.
Switched something and want to be sure it works? Hit the speaker icon next to the Speaker dropdown to play a test sound, and watch the mic indicator react when you talk. You're in full control here, so set it up exactly how you like before moving on.
You'll also spot a Mirror toggle and quick buttons to turn your camera or mic on and off. Use them however feels comfortable.
Network Check
First up, Bello runs a quick Network Check to make sure your connection is solid enough for a smooth session.
It kicks off automatically and runs in the background.
Give it a moment. A progress bar shows you how it's going.
Once it's happy, you'll see a green check and it's on to the next one.
🎧 This one's hands-off. Just sit tight while it does its thing.
Device Check
Next, you'll confirm your camera, mic, and speakers are actually doing their jobs. Bello asks you to tick off three quick boxes:
I can see myself in the video window.
I see the mic icon animate when I speak.
I can hear music when I click the speaker icon.
Run through each one, check the boxes, then hit Confirm Devices. Green checks all around means you're good to go.
Recording Check
Last check, and it's an easy one. This is just a quick warm-up to make sure your video and audio record clearly.
You'll see a short prompt to answer, something simple like your name, where you're from, and what you enjoy doing in your free time.
Find a quiet spot with decent lighting, then click Start recording.
Talk naturally for at least 10 seconds, then hit Stop recording.
Once you've recorded, play it back to make sure you can see and hear yourself clearly. Happy with it? Tick the confirmation box and click Submit recording. Want a redo? Restart recording gives you a fresh take, no questions asked.
When all three checks show green, click Next Step.
Step 3: Let's Get to Know You
Almost there. This is where you tell us how you'd like to show up in the session.
Type the name you want everyone to see in the Participant Name field.
That's the name that'll appear during the discussion, so go with whatever feels right.
Joining means you agree to Bello's terms and privacy policy, both linked right there if you want a read.
Click Next Step when you're ready.
Step 4: You're All Set
That's it. You made it.
You'll see a You're all ready! screen with green checks next to your Speakers, Microphone, and Camera.
You can safely close the page now. We'll notify you when it's time to join.
